Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

Effective date: October 8, 2026

1. Who we are

QualifiedProfessors is responsible for your personal information.

2. Information we collect

  • Account: name, email, password (stored hashed), and two-step verification settings if you turn it on.
  • Orders: subject, instructions, deadlines, files you upload, messages, deliveries, reviews and tips.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive payment status, amount and a reference, not your full card number.
  • Writers: profile, verification and payout details (for example, a PayPal email for payouts).
  • Technical: IP address (for security and rate limiting), browser and device information, and sign-in times.
  • Newsletter (only if you sign up): your email address, and when you subscribed or unsubscribed.
  • Analytics (with your consent): pages viewed and how you arrived (for example, referrer and campaign), through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Clarity can record how pages are used, such as clicks and scrolling.

3. How we use it

To provide and secure the service, process payments, match orders with writers, send order and account emails, send promotional emails if you have not opted out, send the newsletter if you signed up for it, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the site.

4. Who we share it with

  • Writers: an order's details and files are visible to verified writers who may take it on, so they can judge whether it fits them. Once a writer takes the order, messages and deliveries are shared only between you, that writer and our support team.
  • Service providers: Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Cloudflare R2 (file storage), Vercel (hosting), Sentry (error monitoring), Upstash (scheduled tasks), Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (analytics, with consent).
  • Legal reasons: when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies

We use necessary cookies to run the site and keep you signed in. Analytics cookies load only after you consent, and you can change your choice at any time from "Manage Cookies" in the footer. See our Cookie Policy for each cookie.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account details: while your account is open. When an account is closed, we remove the name, email address, password and two-step verification settings straight away; the records below stay, linked to an anonymous account.
  • Orders, instructions, files and messages: up to 2 years after the order is completed, so you can return to your work and we can handle questions or disputes. Then we delete them.
  • Payment, refund, tip and payout records: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
  • Writer verification and payout details: while the writer is active; payout records for 7 years.
  • Support and contact messages: 2 years.
  • Security logs (such as IP addresses and sign-in times): 12 months.
  • Email preferences: until you change them. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we don't email you again.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics keeps detailed event data for up to 14 months. Microsoft Clarity keeps session recordings for 30 days and summary data for up to 13 months.
  • Backups: deleted data can remain in encrypted backups for a short time until they are overwritten.

We may keep information longer when the law requires it or to resolve a dispute that is under way.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Download a copy of your data from Settings > Your data.
  • Correct your details from your profile.
  • Delete your account from Settings, or ask support to do it for you.
  • Turn off promotional emails in Settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any promotional email.

California and other US state residents: depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do not sell or share it). We will not discriminate against you for using these rights. To make a request, contact us at the email below; we will verify your identity and respond within the time the law requires.

8. Users in the EU, UK and elsewhere

If data protection laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply to you, you also have the right to object to or restrict our processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We rely on contract (to provide the service), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the site), consent (analytics cookies, which you can withdraw) and legal obligations. Your information is processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, under appropriate safeguards.

9. Children

The service is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Users aged 13–17 need a parent or guardian's consent.

10. Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections, malware scanning of uploaded files, and optional two-step verification. No system is perfectly secure.

11. Changes

We will post changes here with a new effective date and notify you of material changes.
